Back to School with RJ Berger's Dreamgirl "Jenny Swanson"

It's back to school time which means it's time to bring your A game to campus. Another year of fun, drama, romance, zit cream, therapy and being a terrible driver. As part of Buzznet's Back to School month, we're asking the cast of MTV's The Hard Times of RJ Berger about their experiences in high school and how to RULE THE SCHOOL.

Jenny Swanson is a beautiful, popular, and down-to-earth cheerleader played by actress Amber Lancaster. Jenny is basically a "10" who has it all, and her kindness makes it even more painful to know that girls like her DO EXIST. It also explains why RJ Berger is head-over-heels in love. We asked Amber what it's like to be at the top of the food chain in high school.

Buzznet: Who was the first celebrity you looked up to when you were little?

Amber Lancaster: Tiffani-Amber Thiessen (aka Kelly Kapowski). She is still my hero.

BN: What's your favorite coming-of-age movie?

AL: "Can't Hardly Wait"

BN: Did you go to your high school prom? What'd you wear?

AL: I missed most of my high school prom to audition for the Seattle Seahawks dance team, but I made the very end. I wore a strapless silver dress that I was in LOVE with.

BN: What was your most embarrassing moment in high school?

AL: My junior year of high school I asked why Princess Diana was referred to as "the Princess of Wales" because I thought they meant whales.  Unfortunately I was then known as the "Princess of Whales"

BN: Have you ever dated a geek like RJ Berger in real life?

AL: I only date guys who are a little geeky. If you aren't willing to embrace your inner geek, then you aren't my type.

BN: What was the best part of being in high school?

AL: The best part of high school was getting all excited and dressed up to go to school dances. When else in your life do you get to wear a corsage? I also loved when the yearbook came out at the end of the school year.

BN: What's the funniest thing a guy has ever said to get you to go on a date?

AL: Guys do all kinds of funny and sweet things, from marriage proposals to telling me they have the "swan flu," but what works best is just being yourself, and saying something genuine.

BN: Which song best defines your character on the show?

AL: "Bette Davis Eyes"  by Kim Carnes

BN: What are your favorite qualities in a potential boyfriend?

AL: They have to be able to make me laugh, cry, and think... 

BN: What's the fastest way to your heart?

AL: Humor
